Christmas is coming...is He your King?

Unlike last year, this year I really am looking forward to Christmas. Even though this year will be much different than last year. There will be less gifts given and less money spent. But I think the source of my joy even though our gift giving will be more meager is because of my King! Is He your King too?

I love this video...while words can't describe such a King, this is the closest you'll get, this side of Heaven.

It's a wonderful life

Can you believe in all of my 38 years, I have never watched It's a wonderful life? Until now that is. I watched it last night and it was a wonderful classic movie with a great message! It's little reminders such as reading something or watching something that can trigger a grateful heart.

I'm feeling very grateful. Yes, it is indeed a wonderful life.

Prayers for my friend

I have a friend and she was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. She's not quite 40 I believe. Please pray for her. I'm just heartbroken at the news. Life is so precious and it's sad that we are reminded of this fact by witnessing our friends go through things like this.

She is a strong lady and I know she will get through this! She has a lot of people praying for her but I ask that anyone reading this will say a prayer for her too. I'm happy to call her my friend and I'm so sad that she has to go through this. But she will not go through it alone.

I pray to the Lord God that she will be completely cured and live a long, healthy life in her beautiful new home that she and her husband spent the last 5-6 years looking for. They signed the papers for the house the same day she was diagnosed.

Love ya Sweetie!

What is heaven like?

I don't know about you, but ever since I can remember I've day dreamed about what heaven would be like. Would I float around playing a harp for eternity? Would I fly like an angel? Would I be disembodied and only my soul would exist? Will my beloved pets be in heaven?

Hard questions to find answers to...or are they? The bible actually tells us more about heaven than we think. We just have to look. Randy Alcorn is an Author and Christian who I believe has found many of these answers that may have been overlooked by a lot of us, yet were always in plain site within the words of the bible.
This book is simply extraordinary and awe provoking. If you have ever wanted to know more about what heaven may be like, I'd highly recommend you read this book. Randy Alcorn bases the majority of the Q & A on biblical principles and based on those principles he includes what his own imagination sees as what heaven may be like for us. Simply put, this book has totally changed my own perception of what heaven may be like one day. I love his writing style and how he encourages readers.

Here is a link to read more about the book:

Simple Truth, Yet Quite Profound

The other day I was watching this minister on video and he was talking about evolution and giving his reasons why the big bang and cosmic soup theories are simply not true. This post isn't about that...but one thing he said really stuck with me, and that was when he mentioned the meaning of the word Universe. He didn't give a lot of emphasis on the word and just said it in passing during his sermon. What he did say I thought was quite profound in a simple way if that makes sense. Sort of like one of those things that you don't think about until someone mentions it and you have a "Wow, I never looked at it like that" moment.

Uni - means one.
Verse means sentence of written or spoken language.

One sentence...Genesis 1:3 Then God said "Let there be light".

I've spent the last few days pondering this word and it's meaning. It's like it's so simple, yet so profound, but it makes total sense. Had I not heard him mention this, I would of never gave it another thought or even had a curious notion about it's meaning.

Miracle Money

The term "Miracle Money" is one I coined for any money I receive that I wasn't counting on, thus making it miracle money. I consider it a unexpected blessing from God.

So what does miracle money have to do with being an artist or crafting? Well, I'm sure many of you that are reading my blog may craft as a business. It could be that you are a single parent and crafting is your livelihood. Or maybe you sell your crafts in order to supplement your families income. Either way, this is where the topic of miracle money comes in. This isn't meant to offend anyone, but I speak from my heart and my faith is part of that. Plus I think this information can be beneficial to all crafters, regardless of their faith.

I know all of us have goals for ourselves. Either on a personal level or business level. We all want to see ourselves in a position of financial security for the future. The first step I believe in doing this is trusting in God. God never gives us more than we can handle and he wants to see us financially secure. That security lies within him.

"Consider the crows. They don't plant or harvest. They don't even have a storeroom or a barn. Yet, God feeds them. You are worth much more than birds." -- Luke 12:24

I've shared with you what my definition of miracle money is, now just what do I consider the form of miracle money to come in? For each of us this will be different. It could be a unexpected check in the mail, a gift from someone, a surprise savings you received on a product you bought at a store, etc. It can really vary.

Any miracle money we receive serves two purposes. The first is to give back to God in the form of tithes, sponsoring through programs like http://www.teenchallenge.com/ , and putting the remaining money into savings for the purpose of financing the children's future college expenses, retirement, etc.

My husband and I also started savings account at the beginning of 2007. We sort of made a game out of it and we decided who ever had the most in their savings account by the end of the year gets a dinner and a movie. But truly, the reward is that each of us (with Gods help) will be reaching our goals of saving for the future. Also that night out will be a blessing as we'll be able to spend precious time with one another.

There is a wonderful christian based program that I feel so blessed to have found out about and it's called Crown Financial. I listen to their radio program almost daily and they offer so much sound christian based advice on their program called money matters. They also have a "money map" that you can get that teaches you the steps of obtaining financial freedom from debts, such as mortgages, car payments, student loans, and more. I highly recommend the resources they offer.

As christian artist and crafters who are creating as a business, it's really important to have a good solid foundation for the financial side of it based on biblical principles as our guide.

Why "Two Dancing Crows"?

I've had a few people ask me about the name Two Dancing Crows and if there is any meaning to the name. Most people will think that it's just a whimsical name for a craft related blog or business. It is on the one hand but there's a bit more to it than that. Hopefully, I'll explain this well.

For the two crows, one of them represents me and the other one represents my imagination. But just because you have two crows, that doesn't mean they will dance (aka be creative).

The "dancing" part in the name represents what brings the crows to life and stirs their imagination. That sweet music that causes them to unconsciously move in a creative dance. That would be the blessings of my Father in heaven. His blessing of who I am and the gift of imagination he has given me makes the crows dance. Without him they would simply be two crows, plain, unmoving and non creative.

Everything I am, everything I do and everything I create is because and for the glory of God.
