Oil Can Collection

These may seem like an odd item to collect and honestly I'm not sure why I'm facinated with these little oil cans. But I know I like there various shapes and with them being small, they certainly are easy to display. The only negative thing about these little oil cans is usually when you find them they usually have oil either still inside them or covering them. Nothing that a bit of Dawn dish soap can't take care of.

I generally have found them at estate sales, antique malls and sometimes auctions. I try not to duplicate the types. Most are different as you can see, with many having a different shaped spout or base shape.

One of these days I'm going to try "Altering" some of them. I think they would look so pretty with some vintage ads and images decoupaged on them. I'll be sure and post some pictures when that day comes (;

Anyway, here is part of my growing collection. My favorite are the tiny ones and that robin egg blue one. So what do you collect? Post a picture of your collection on your blog and leave me a reply so I can see it!
