The Cutest Little Accordian on Earth!

I stopped at an estate sale today and I just had to share this little treasure with you. I swear this must be the cutest little thing ever! It's a little vintage Hohner child size accordion. My guess is it's probably from the 40's or 50's. It's marked that it was made in Germany.

To give you an idea of it's small size....closed, as you see it below, it measures 8 inches from front to back and 8 inches wide. It works beautifully...ok, well maybe when I'm attempting to play the sound resembles fingernails on a chalkboard (;

It's in beautiful shape! It has one little paint mark on it. Which I think I can remove with solvent, though I'm a little scurd to try. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. But for now I have it sitting by my desk. Partly to gaze at it's overwhelming cuteness and partly to guard it from my over zealous little girls fingers. Whom, by the way is dying to play with it LOL! Ok, I didn't torture her and did let her play it for a few minutes. She thinks it's the greatest thing since Dora the Explorer and even better than her Kazoo. Which I had double sampling of this morning as she played Twinkle Twinkle and This old man for me. Nothing better than walking up to that right? If up to her, this would quickly become her new favorite toy though. She does understand it's vintage, but I personally don't think that would stop her from going to town on this cute little music maker.

Now, I need ideas on what to do with it? Should I....

A). Give it to my 6 year old daughter and send her off to take some accordion lessons?

B). Sell this little puppy on eBay? (I have yet to find a child size Horner on ebay. If anyone finds one let me know as I'm not sure what the worth is).

C. Horde the darling thing, display it in my house and some day pass it down to future generations?

What do you think?

Tough Call! I don't think I would be able to keep it away from my daughter...and as long as I was with her, I'd let her play away. But you have a real piece of vintage childhood there. I think my "keeper of anything way cool" side would overule and I would have to display it and protect it to pass on later! Good Luck!

Gosh Kelly...It is darling..I think I would display it and once in a while let your little girl play it...Orrrr then again it might get a pretty good bid on Ebay and you could get her something nice a little more quiet...I loved your sentence about the kazoo playing...Jean
